1. About This Extension

Cursor Spending Monitor is a free, open-source Chrome extension that reads your cursor.com dashboard locally to help you visualize API usage, costs, and quotas. It requires no login, no API key, and never leaves your browser.

2. Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. The extension only reads and stores data locally on your device:

• Usage records from your cursor.com dashboard (model name, token counts, cost per request)
• Spending summary (plan name, quota percentages, on-demand usage)
• Your cursor.com username – used solely to segregate records when multiple accounts are used on the same browser profile
• Your UI preferences (theme, language, alert thresholds) stored via chrome.storage.local

All of the above data is stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local on your own device. It is never uploaded, synced to any server, or shared with any third party.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your cursor.com password or authentication tokens
• We do not collect any browsing history outside of cursor.com dashboard pages
• We do not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any tracking technology
• We do not transmit any data over the internet
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs

4. Permissions Used

The extension requests the following permissions, each for a specific stated purpose:

• storage – Save your usage records and preferences locally
• alarms – Schedule periodic background data refreshes
• tabs – Open and navigate the cursor.com dashboard tab for scraping
• sidePanel – Display the extension UI in Chrome's side panel
• notifications – Send budget alerts when on-demand spending exceeds your threshold
• host_permissions: cursor.com – Inject content scripts only into cursor.com dashboard pages

No permission grants access to data on any other website or service.

5. Data Sharing

We never sell, rent, or share your data with any third party. The extension operates entirely offline after installation and does not communicate with any external server or API.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Data is retained in chrome.storage.local until you explicitly clear it (via the "Clear data" button in the extension) or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling the extension automatically removes all stored data.

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the extension collects no personal data at all, it is safe for users of any age.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever materially change this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and release a new version of the extension. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
